I just wanted to go on record saying it: I think Portal 2 will be game of the year. I know that people catch a lot of flak for making a statement like that this early in the race but unless some major surprise-game makes an appearance I don't see any of 'em taking it down.
My top 3 contenders for game of the year are:
Portal 2
Diablo 3 (if it comes out this year)
Mass Effect 3
